Kohl's Design SYSTEM (KDS)

Led the design efforts for Kohl’s enterprise-level design system, serving over 400 designers and developers. This initiative significantly enhanced consistency, scalability, and efficiency across multiple product teams and platforms within the organization.
We took a tiered approach to the Figma libraries A design library includes styles, components and icons that everyone needs. Extension kits and platform templates extend the library with features only some teams need.
ADA Color contrast ratios are an important step in design systems, so I created this chart to help design teams understand what color combinations worked best.
Our design principles reflect our design philosophy and underpin how our digital experiences unleash the potential in any team. Thinking about the experience with these design principles in mind we can be sure it FITS the brand… pun intended.
